Alleged Chlorine Leak Hospitalized 8 Individuals in Malabon

8 Individuals were rushed to the hospital due to an alleged leak of chlorine in Malabon City on Friday.

After being exposed to an alleged chlorine leak at Jovares Oxygen and Gas on Kaingin St. Tinajeros in Malabong City, eight persons were brought to the hospital. According to the study, five of the eight victims were minors.

Malabon Chlorine Leak

Wendy Evangelista, 23, Arturo Bonillo, 72, Rustan Moralde, 25; and five minors, three boys ages three, four, and nine; a female, 13; and a nine-month-old infant, according to the Malabon Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (DRRMO).

The alleged leakage was reported to the Malabon Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at 12:15 p.m. According to the DRRMO, the patients were taken to Malabon Hospital (OSMAL) due to respiratory difficulties.

As a precaution, more than 300 residents were evacuated. The BFP is still looking into what caused the chlorine leak within the storeroom, based on the report.

In the meantime, Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval paid a visit to the sufferers. According to the Mayor, the local administration would take steps to assist affected citizens in their recovery.

“Ang ating lokal na pamahalaan ay gagawa po ng mga hakbang para makatulong sa paggaling ng mga apektado nating kababayan. Sisiguraduhin po namin na mabibigyang aksyon ang insidente na ito sa lalong madaling panahon,” she said.
