Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose shared the reason why her favorite scene in Maria Clara at Ibarra was the confrontation scene with veteran actor Tirso Cruz III.
In the historical portal drama series of the Kapuso network, Julie Anne plays the character of Maria Clara while Tirso gives life to the character of Padre Damaso. Just recently, the scene in which Maria Clara confronted Padre Damaso about her real father was shown and this become a trending topic on social media.
Many viewers commended the acting prowess that Julie Anne showcased. One of her fans even said in a tweet that she is more powerful in acting than soap opera queen Judy Ann Santos.
However, Julie Anne San Jose debunked that comment from her fan saying that she is nothing compared to Juday who already established her name in the entertainment industry for many years now.
In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, the cast members of Maria Clara at Ibarra were asked about their favorite scenes in the series. Julie Anne shared that the confrontation scene that she did with Tirso is very unforgettable.
The actress-singer revealed that they were shot separately because her and Tirso’s schedules did not match. A double had to be with them while they were delivering their lines.
Julie Anne said that with all the emotions that she was to show and the lines in Spanish, this scene was challenging for her.
“While we were doing the scene, we were not actually together. We had doubles because hindi po tugma yung mga (shoot) schedules namin dalawa ni Tito Pip… That was really one of the most challenging for me, with all the Tagalog words, all the Spanish, all the rage, all the anger, mixed emotions. It was technical, that’s why it was also memorable for me because I never thought the scene would turn out well,” the Kapuso star shared.
Meanwhile, Julie Anne San Jose goes back to her hosting stint on The Clash, the Kapuso singing competition, with her real-life sweetheart Rayver Cruz.
