School Criticized for Making Students Watch “My Teacher” as Activity

School Urges Students to Watch Toni Gonzaga’s Film “My Teacher” for Activity

The online community has criticized a school for urging students to watch the film of Toni Gonzaga “My Teacher” for their school activity.

A Twitter user recently created a stir after publishing a waiver from a private school asking parents’ consent to allow their children to participate in a school activity. The aforementioned activity is a film screening in which kids will watch “My Teacher,” a film starring Toni Gonzaga and Joey de Leon.

However, the Brentwood Academy of Dasmarinas was questioned by netizens, particularly Toni critics, for supposedly requiring their pupils to view the aforementioned film as an activity. Following the distribution of the supposed letter of authorization provided to the pupils’ parents, some netizens have been seen condemning the said private school in Cavite.

According to the letter, the pupils must respond to the cost and ticket. Even Ogie Diaz, the talent manager, couldn’t help but respond to the aforementioned letter. Ogie is unsure whether the letter is accurate, and if it is, the school should not be judged instantly.

“Hindi naman natin alam, baka naman talaga namang napanood ng Brentwood ang pelikula e gusto talagang irekomenda sa mga estudyante, kaya nga lang nahahaluan ng pulitika. Malay naman natin, paborito nila si Toni Gonzaga… ng school,” said the talent manager.

Some of Toni’s supporters believe the letter is false, owing to the manner in which it was written. So far, the school has not issued an official statement on whether or not the letter is true.
