Durante, who now heads the Army’s 1001st Brigade in Davao de Oro province, explained that his name was linked to Yvonne’s death because of a social media post the slain model made in April 2022. According to the post, Yvonne shared a photo of herself with bruises and cuts on her face and tagged Durante as the one who hurt her.

“Yvonne was a friend,” he said in a text message to the Inquirer. “My name is being dragged based on an FB (Facebook) post made last April 2022 wherein [she said] I allegedly hurt her. She later retracted the post and issued a statement that I did not in any way harm her,” said Durante.

“I, myself, am asking for justice for Yvonne,” the general insisted.
