Skeletal Remains Discovered at DOJ Construction Site to Be Probe by NBI

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) probed the discovered skeletal remains at the construction site inside the Department of Justice (DOJ) compound.

The skeleton discovered on November 24 at a building site inside the DOJ complex is the subject of an inquiry by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). According to the article, the excavation is being done in preparation for the establishment of a new DOJ library.

NBI DOJ Skeletal Remains

By order of DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, the NBI’s forensic squad is currently holding the skeleton for examination. The skeleton was found during the excavation of a three-story structure that was intended to be built for prosecutors.

“Merong mga skeletal remains na na-recover because of the ongoing construction. Siyempre, like any, we treat it like a crime scene. So, ipinatawag natin ang NBI ngayon to look into it,” explained DOJ Undersecretary Brigido Dulay in a television interview.

Then, two skulls and long skeleton fragments thought to be human forearms and legs were discovered. A skull that allegedly has holes in the head will also be examined by the NBI.

Additionally, he said that given the age of the structure in the DOJ site, it’s probable that the skeletons date to the conflict. According to the article, the compound home to the DOJ offices served as an execution site during World War II.
