4Ps Beneficiary Jumps Off Bridge After Cash Aid Falls Into River
Authorities recovered the lifeless body of a 4Ps beneficiary who allegedly jumped off the bridge when the cash aid falls into the river.
According to the report, a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiary from the Department of Social Welfare (DSWD) was discovered dead in a river in Camarines Sur. The recipient of the recent 4Ps withdrawal leaped from the bridge.
Instead of trying to end his life, the victim leaped from the bridge to save the money that was about to fall into the water. Joebeth Galletes, a 40-year-old resident of Barangay Malansad Viejo, Libmanan, Camarines Sur, was named as the male recipient of 4Ps.
Two days after the event, the victim was discovered in a river in a section of Barangay Malbogon, Libmanan. The story claims that Galletes leaped off the PNR Bridge, which is spanned by Barangay Potot, Libmanan, after the envelope he was carrying with an ATM card and P16,000 in cash inside lost from his hand.
According to the report, the man does not know how to swim resulting him to drown. Galletes’ body was discovered during the MDRRMO Libmanan’s search and rescue mission.
