Benilde Players File Case vs JRU’s Violent Player John Amores

St Benilde Players who were Assaulted by John Amores Filed Case Against Him

The players of the College of St Benilde (CSB) Blazers officially filed a case against Jose Rizal University (JRU) player John Amores following the assault.

A physical harm claim against Amores has been made by athletes Jimboy Pasturan and Taine Davis from the College of Saint Benilde. You may recall that when Amores lost control, he punched Pasturan and Davis.

In the fourth quarter of this Tuesday’s final game between the two schools, Amores went berserk and began to attack players from the opposite side. Charles Tiu, Benilde’s coach, testified in support of the grievance.

He declared that although they are prepared to forget the incident, they won’t skip taking the proper remedial action, based on the report. Simply put, the coach is grateful that none of the other players were hurt in the commotion.

” For us, it’s just really an unfortunate incident that we felt really could have been avoided if they were able to keep emotions a little bit in check. We felt it’s a game won for us,” sinabi ni Tiu.

“Tapos na sana and none of this should have happened, and we have guys punched. I guess that’s part of life, part of basketball, and I’m just thankful that none other guys got hurt right now,”  he added.

The team is willing to forget the incident in spite of this. Benilde is still concentrating on practicing for the NCAA rematch, which will actually pit DALTA against the University of Perpetual Help System in another conflict.

“As disappointing as it is, we asked the team to just learn to forgive for whatever happened but we’re still gonna take the right actions that need to be done,” he said.

“We leave it up to the higher-ups, the lawyers, the school officials. Kami, we’ll just go back to playing basketball cause that’s what we’re here to do and hopefully no other incident like this happens,” he added.
