Kapuso writer Suzette Doctolero shared a previous statement on Crisostomo Ibarra, the lead male character in the primetime series Maria Clara at Ibarra, which appeared to be different from what she recently shared.

Previously, Suzette clarified that MCAI will not turn into a “kabit” series as some viewers anticipated because of the “kilig” that the characters of Ibarra (Dennis Trillo) and Klay (Barbie Forteza) were displaying. In the series, Ibarra’s love interest is Maria Clara (Julie Anne San Jose.)

Suzette said that it is inevitable for the character of Klay to fall in love with a guy who shares the same values and views that she has. She even mentioned that Klay could be really drawn toward a guy who is ideal.

Just recently, the Kapuso series received criticism as some commented that they are tarnishing the good reputation of Crisostomo Ibarra. However, Suzette Doctolero shared an old write-up citing the reason why Jose Rizal killed the character of Elias. In the author’s explanation, he also differentiated the characters of Elias and Ibarra. Rizal called Ibarra an egoist.

In a post from this site’s official Facebook Page, a netizen said that Suzette deleted the recent post she shared because it contradicted her previous statement that Crisostomo Ibarra is an ideal man.

The netizen added that many viewers do not like that the series tends to make a connection between the characters of Klay and Ibarra, especially since Maria Clara is still there. “Sabi nila, they are not heading to that Klay-Ibarra route, pero the scenes show otherwise,” he said. The netizen also said that the “slow-mo titigan” makes the viewers react.
