Tony Velasquez Slams PBBM Joke About the Rumor Claiming He is in Japan

ABS-CBN news anchor Tony Velasquez slammed the joke of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr (PBBM) about the rumor that he is in Japan.

Tony Velasquez, a seasoned news anchor, was not amused by PBBM’s joke over the claims that he was overseas over the weekend. You may remember that the president addressed people who disseminate untrue information about him in a brief statement during a press briefing on October 31.

In an interview with the media, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. updated the public on Paeng’s effects on the nation. Marcos discussed some of the steps he will take to solve the issue of those affected by the storm, particularly the farmers who lost their crops, in the aforementioned press conference held in Cavite.

Before he left, he even made a mockery of the problem he had been dealing with lately—namely, his planned travel to Japan this weekend in the midst of Paeng’s devastation.

“Welcome to Hokkaido,” the president said with a laugh.

As some of its detractors are propagating, Malacanang previously denied that the president had departed Japan. Not all online users like Marcos’ prank. Due to the difficulty the Filipino people had to endure over the previous few days as a result of the terrible weather, Velasquez denounced Marcos’ jest on her Twitter post.

“Nakuha pa ni Pang. Marcos Jr. na magbiro, bilang sagot sa mga haka haka na nasa Japan siya habang meron nang nagaganap na malawak na kalamidad sa Pinas dulot ni Paeng. “Welcome to Hokkaido” ika niya. Natawa kaya yung mga namatayan sa bahay at guho?” Velasquez said.
