Herlene Budol does not mind the negative comments that she receives
Beauty queen-actress Herlene Budol said that bashing does not affect her anymore because she knows that there are people who become so attached to “chismis.”
Herlene is also known as Hipon Girl in showbiz. This nickname started when she became a regular host of Willie Revillame‘s game show Wowowin. Although being called “hipon” has a negative connotation, Herlene said in a recent episode of Luis Listens of actor-host Luis Manzano that she does not mind being called this name.
She said that through this, she was able to provide for her family. Being Hipon Girl also opened doors of opportunities for her in showbiz. Eventually, Herlene Budol became a beauty queen.
Despite her success in the national pageant and in showbiz, Luis asked Herlene about the bashing that she still gets. She said that it is a fact that there are people who are judgmental.
“Parang buhay na nila yan eh, ang chismis. Parang umaga, tanghalian, hapunan na nila yung chismis,” she said. Luis quipped that even the burp of these people is “chismis.”
Herlene added that if through this she can help the lives of other people so that they will have something to talk about, then, so be it. “Maapektuhan man ako, pang sa akin na lang,” she said.
When asked about the bashing that really affected her, Herlene shared that it was the time when someone told her that she was able to enter Wowowin because allegedly she has an intimate relationship with Kuya Wil.
Luis asked if she told the veteran host about this, Herlene said that Kuya Wil knew about this but he just told her to ignore it and take a break from social media.
Herlene Budol said that it was the first comment that she read about her when she started her career on TV.
