The Story Behind Gabrielle Basiano National Costume for Miss Intercontinental 2022
GABRIELLE BASIANO – Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano in her Ibong Adarna-inspired national costume for Miss Intercontinental 2022.
Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022 Gabrielle Basiano is attempting to give her country a back-to-back victory with reigning title holder Cindy Obeñita. She first joined the national pageant Bb. Pilipinas in 2021 and finished as first runner-up.
The 24-year-old beauty queen from Borongan, Eastern Samar is now competing for Miss Intercontinental 2022. The coronation night is happening in Egypt on October 14.
Days before the coronation night of the Miss Intercontinental 2022, Gabrielle Basiano took to her IG page to ask for support from her fellow Pinoys. She shared 3 snaps of herself in a white bathing suit.
Gabrielle’s introduction video for the pageant was also released on Wednesday, October 12. In the video, the Pinay model said she’s “more than ready to conquer the world stage and create great change to others.”

Just recently, Gabrielle Basiano made waves on social media after she uploaded photos and a video donning her Ibong Adarna-inspired national costume. In the caption, she shared the deeper meaning behind her costume.
In photos shared on Wednesday, October 21, Gabrielle is seen wearing a gray outfit while interacting with a colorful bird. The whole ensemble, which is called “Lunas/Cure,” was designed by Ken Batino.
“This amazing costume showcases the story of the folklore that tells about love, sacrifice and fantasy. This costume centers around the story of catching a mythical bird that possesses magical power,” she wrote.
Gabrielle Basiano’s gray gown is particularly inspired by the famous moment where the Adarna turns someone into stone. Recall that the Adarna is able to perform seven songs that have the power to heal grave diseases, turn humans into stone, or put them to sleep.
This, in Gabrielle’s opinion, means that she has “a huge challenge in the pageant that she is confident to surpass.”
