Renato Reyes Shares Receives Death Threat Over Tirade on Marcos SG Trip
Veteran activist Renato Reyes revealed that he received a death threat following his statement against the Singapore trip of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
The Bayan secretary-general took to Twitter to share the threat he recently received. The threat was sent to him following his statement expressing his reactions towards PBBM spotted at the F1 Grand Prix in Singapore.
The Bayan group demanded that the government should inform the public of who covered Marcos’s travel expenses when he was in Singapore. However, Lucas Bersamin, Malacañang’s new executive secretary, claimed that it is “irrelevant” to reveal who paid.
Then he noted that some of Marcos’ family members, who were also government officials, were also with him. The President was joined by the First Lady, Louise Araneta-Marcos, her son, Rep. Sandro Marcos of the Ilocos Norte 1st District, and his cousin, Speaker of the House Martin Romualdez, who was joined by his wife, Rep. Yedda Romualdez of Tingog.
Meanwhile, Reyes also stated that he would die after Percy Lapid, according to the threat. It can be recalled that the seasoned broadcaster was assassinated by two assailants riding a motorcycle in Las Piñas City.
“May death threat sa akin sa Twitter, isusunod daw ako kay Percy Lapid, at hindi pa raw tapos ang taniman, at tataniman daw ako ng .45 caliber na baril eme eme, dahil sa pahayag kaugnay ng byahe ni Marcos Jr. sa Singapore,” he said in his post.
Reyes also included a screenshot of the threat from Twitter user Andrei in the comments section as well. According to him, he shared the screenshot for the trolls who are looking for the link to verify his claims are true.
