Bayan Group Wants Maid in Malacañang to be Cancelled in Europe

Bayan Group Wants to Stop Maid in Malacañang in Europe

Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) group appeals to stop the showing of Darryl Yap’s movie ‘Maid in Malacañang’ in Europe.

The New Patriotic Alliance or BAYAN files a petition to prevent the European release of the film Maid in Malacañang. According to BAYAN-petition, Europe’s aforementioned movie will be shown to viewers in the European Union as nothing but lies.

They claim that the people responsible for the movie weren’t even questioned about the real victims of martial law. It was also said that the movie was made without the Marcoses following court regulations, facts, or accounts supported by proof.

“The film is produced without the propriety of evidence-based accounts, facts and court rules met by the Marcoses from proper courts and international institutions who stood to witness and record their anomalies.” according to the petition.

The seasoned activist Renato Reyes’s group in Europe joins forces to demand that this movie be rejected, canceled, and never shown again since it is a part of a plot to minimize the role the Marcos family played in the world. Additionally, they urged movie theaters to forbid it on their own.

“We in BAYAN Europe join hands in asking that this film be rejected, canceled, and not shown anywhere ever because it is part of the conspiracy to whitewash the role of the Marcos family, in one of the darkest epochs in Philippine history,” the petition said.

“We hope that cinema owners will not allow themselves to become a party to this false, absurd, and distorted representation of Philippine history,” they added.
