Paul Desiderio: PBA Releases Statement After Agatha Uvero’s Controversial Post

PBA To Launch Investigation Into Domestic Abuse Allegation Made Against Paul Desiderio

PAUL DESIDERIO – The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) to launch an investigation into the domestic abuse allegation made against Blackwater’s Paul Desiderio.

In a previous article, the former partner of PBA player Paul Desiderio, Agatha Uvero, shared details of the violent acts allegedly done by Paul. The former UAAP courtside reporter said she has been abused emotionally and physically by Paul.

Agatha revealed this in a series of tweets early Wednesday morning. She shares a son with the basketball player.

Last June, Agatha Uvero announced that she and Paul Desiderio have parted ways. She claimed that her ex-partner has been violent with her multiple times throughout their relationship.

Uvero said the violent acts include kicking, punching, throwing, and strangling. Some of which allegedly occurred when she was 2 months pregnant with their child.

Hours after Agatha Uvero’s social media post, PBA released a statement regarding the domestic abuse allegation made against Paul Desiderio. The league said it “will conduct an inquiry and hand down its findings and resolution as soon as the facts are clearly established.”

“This league will not tolerate any form of domestic abuse. No matter the cause or circumstances, physical and psychological abuse of women, whether in the confines of marriage or not, is inexcusable…”

“This report deserves to be given serious attention by both the ballclub concerned and the PBA itself.”

“We are confident that the Blackwater management will extend its full cooperation and assistance toward ensuring that a just determination is reached,” the PBA added.

Paul Desiderio is still recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he sustained last May 31. He is not the first PBA star to face allegations of domestic abuse.
