Erwin Tulfo removes 2 DSWD Employees due to “Attitude Problem”

Erwin Tulfo took necessary action regarding complaints against 2 DSWD employees

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin Tulfo removed two (2) employees of the agency after receiving complaints about their attitude.

Working in a government agency requires patience most of the time because most of the time employees need to deal with different kinds of people. It is inevitable that tension can arise in certain situations.

Reportedly, Sec. Tulfo had to do necessary action against those employees who are not doing their job well. During a recent interview, based on the report from ABS-CBN News, the DSWD Chief said that two of the agency’s employees were relieved.

One employee was assigned to the DSWD Office in Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Pasay City) and the other one was in Tagbilaran City. “Merong sinasabi naistress daw, dealing with poor people, the elderly, medyo nakukulitan, medyo hindi na maganda kanilang pakikitungo or attitude,” Sec. Erwin Tulfo said about the employee from their office in NAIA.

The removed employee in Tagbiliran City, unfortunately was assigned to dealing complaints. “Yung sa Tagbilaran naman very unfortunate she’s in our complaints section, tumatanggap ng reklamo tapos ganun ang attitude… She will have to undergo retraining,” the Secretary said.

The Social Welfare Secretary shared that he is stressing every week to employees of the agency that it is their job to help people.

Meanwhile, Tulfo promised his staff, as well as the 11,000 contract of service workers that “they will have jobs until 2028 provided they will do their job.” He said that this is part of the pandemic recovery. “As much as possible iwasan kasi everybody has to recover. Maghanap na lang ng ibang paraan,” Sec. Erwin Tulfo said.
