Ruffa Gutierrez Lawyer Releases Statement on Issue w/ Helpers

The lawyer of Ruffa Gutierrez answered the accusation against her

The camp of actress Ruffa Gutierrez, through her lawyer Atty. Bryant Gamonnac Casiw, released an official statement on the allegation that she threw her helpers out of her house.

The allegation surfaced on social media because of the Twitter post of former Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon who said that her friend rescued the two helpers of Ruffa as they were forced to leave the house without even getting their salaries.

Ruffa denied this and explained that the two helpers who started working with her two weeks ago were fighting her elderly mayordoma who has spent many years working with them.

On July 11, the lawyer of the actress released a statement on this issue. Atty. Casiw said that Ruffa Gutierrez did not fire nor refuse to pay the salary of the two helpers. The statement also clarified that it was the helpers who quit and insisted to leave even without complying with the clearance requirements of the village association.

“This fake news is a black propaganda/smear campaign against our Client as she is playing the character of former First Lady Imelda Marcos in an upcoming movie,” the statement stressed.

It was also said that the helpers “became unruly and turned berserk” on July 7 when Ruffa was not at home. The statement said that the helpers called the actress because they have decided to quit because they can no longer cope with her shooting schedules.

A commotion happened when the two helpers insisted to leave without following the necessary process, the lawyer of Ruffa said. Atty. Casiw also said that the helpers violated the Confidentiality, Non-disclosure, and Working Agreement that they signed.

The camp of Ruffa also said that they, later on, found out that the helpers have already made arrangements to transfer to a neighbor in the village. “This issue could be resolved privately. Despite what happened, our Client wishes the Helpers well,” the actress’s lawyer stated.

The camp of Ruffa Gutierrez also assured that they will explore all legal actions and remedies to address this issue, especially against the spreader of fake news.
