First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos received criticism because of her viral “belat” photo and her friend explained the story behind this.
It is inevitable for many people to notice every move of the new First Family and this was what happened during the inauguration when the First Lady was caught doing an unexpected gesture.
The said viral photo of the wife of President Bongbong Marcos was taken during the inauguration on June 30. PBBM, his wife, and their kids were standing on the stage. It can be seen that Liza was looking at the crowd and she was sticking her tongue out.
This received criticism from writer/director/actor Manny Castañeda, based on the article in PEP. Manny said that this was inappropriate and that the First Lady should learn to conduct herself properly the wife of the President.
“Making faces with the crowd/friends, disgusting. We all know she is an Araneta pero bakit parang wala syang breeding?” the showbiz personality said. He also criticized the outfit of Liza Araneta-Marcos during the inauguration.
Entertainment columnist Joe Barrameda, a close friend of the First Lady explained the story behind this. He said that Liza remained as simple as she is before her husband was elected as President.
The columnist said that it appeared that it has not sink in yet to the Marcoses that they are now the First Family. “Yung mga tao doon, parang mga sosyalerang fans. May mga kaibigan siya na parang kinakantiyawan siya. Nag-cheer sa kanya,” Barrameda shared.
That was the point when Liza gestured the “belat,” this was caught on camera, and went viral.
Meanwhile, there was also a moment during the inauguration that Liza Araneta-Marcos cried and President Bongbong Marcos gave her the handkerchief from his pocket.
