Regine Velasquez and Sharon Cuneta have another Iconic concert
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez and Megastar Sharon Cuneta shared what it takes to be considered “icon” in the entertainment industry.
Regine and Sharon have proven their star status in showbiz. Aside from dominating the concert stage, they also did several hit TV shows and movies that paved their way to stardom.
These two icons joined hands once again to showcased their iconic performances. They will have a grand two-night repeat of their “Iconic” concert, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
During a recent interview, Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez consider each other as their icons. The Megastar highlighted the friendship that she has with the Asia’s Songbird.
“[She’s] such a dependable friend, true, with her work is work pero simple kami mabuhay,” Sharon said about her rare friendship with Regine.
For the Songbird, the Megastar is an icon. Regine revealed that she was involved with the life of Sharon during the latter’s years as a rising star.
Then, the Megastar stressed the important thing that would tell that someone is an icon. She said that it is because of the personal history that they have with their fans.
“They laughed and cried with us, they tell us things lovingly even if it hurts, they grew up with us,” Sharon said. The wife of Senator Kiko Pangilinan also shared her advice to newbie artists who are starting to pave their way to stardom.
“Pakinggan ang nagmamahal sa’yo, kahit takot ka sa sinasabi nila,” Sharon said. Both Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez said that newbie artists can create their own names and not just conform to being called the next Regine or Sharon.
“Madaling kumanta at sumikat, pero [ang] pagiging icon, tao ang nagde-decide,” the Megastar said.
