On the night of May 31, the outgoing Senator shared a post on Twitter as he bids goodbye to the Senate. He shared his photo taken while he was speaking during his “final interpellations on a Senate measure.”

“Raising our concerns on the possible threats of the RCEP treaty ratification to our farmers, fisherfolk and the urgent need for Government intervention to double Agri funding. May 31, 2022. Farewell, 18th Congress,” Sen. Kiko Pangilinan shared.

Many of his supporters wrote heartwarming comments on his post. They thanked the Senator for the things he has done for the Filipino people while there were also those who commended him for a job well done.

The Senator started his career in politics when he was elected as councilor of the fourth district of Quezon City in 1988 and in 1992, he became a congressman. He decided to run for senator in 2001 and he won and served until 2013. He returned to the Senate in 2016.

Meanwhile, Pangilinan’s daughter Frankie Pangilinan caught the attention of the online community because of her statement against President-elect Bongbong Marcos. Frankie said that she can’t accept that another Marcos will be her president. She joined the rally criticizing BBM but she said that it was not all about the election result.
