Jojo Binay ‘Unfit’ To Become Senator Due To Mental Illness – Mocha Uson

Mocha Uson Asks Comelec To Check On Ex-VP Jojo Binay’s Health

JOJO BINAY – Former OWWA Deputy Administrator Mocha Uson asked the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to check on former-Vice President and senatorial aspirant Jejomar “Jojo” Binay’s health.

Jojo Binay served as the 13th vice president of the Philippines under late President Noynoy Aquino III. Before entering politics, he was a human rights lawyer. He is also a political detainee during the Marcos regime.

The 79-year-old politician is a guest candidate in the senatorial slates of Vice President Leni Robredo, Senatos Ping Lacson, and Manny Pacquiao. He is running under the United Nationalist Alliance.

On Wednesday, Mothers for Change (MOCHA) first nominee Mocha Uson asked COMELEC to check on Jojo Binay’s health status. In a two-page document, she asked the poll body to look into the mental capability of Binay who is said to be suffering from dementia or memory disorder.

The former OWWA Deputy Administrator asserted that she has nothing against Binay but that she has the right as a voter and citizen of the country to make it public especially and there is a possibility that he will enter the “Magic 12 ″ in the coming elections.

“As someone who loves the country, I am concerned about the possibility that a leading candidate for the Senate may no longer be capable of fulfilling his duties to the people and the Republic after he is elected,” she explained.

Mocha Uson said she heard rumors that Binay’s condition is not good and this can be proven by the fact that he has rarely participated in campaign rallies in the past two months. She added that if the senatorial aspirant is suffering from a mental disorder, the COMELEC should not go blind and ensure their mandate to check that whoever is running is in the right frame of mind and health.

“For those who have been following the former Vice President’s career, his silence is completely uncharacteristic. And given the reports on his supposedly failing health, quite alarming. Mr. Binay has been among the most vocal critics of our beloved President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, yet during this period where his voice needs to be heard the most – he has stayed in the shadows,” she added.
