ASTRA PIMENTEL’S PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Astra Pimentel and the things she promises to do if she gets elected as Senator in the May 2022 Elections.
The senatorial candidate under Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan or the PDP-Laban was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as liaison in the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office. She is also the undersecretary for the Commission of Filipinos Overseas and the Department of Energy.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
The career of Astra Pimentel in public service started when she became the political affairs officer for Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III. Although she worked under the Senator, whose father Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel Jr. was the founder of PDP-Laban, she is running under the wing of the party supported by President Rodrigo Duterte.
She studied a Special Course in Accounting for Non-Accountants at the University of the Philippines. Pimentel also has a BS in Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Services degree from Xavier University. Then, she took up a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration at the Trinity University of Asia. The senatorial aspirant is married to Coco Naik and they have four children.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Astra Pimentel served as the Executive Director and Undersecretary of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas from February 2018 to July 2021. She also held the position of Undersecretary of the Department of Energy in July last year.

- Proposes a parliamentary federal system of government
- Ensure the following for OFW: Pension plans, Easy access to housing, Discount benefits, and More programs for the education of their children
- Create a roadmap for the tourism industry to ensure more jobs for Filipinos
