MANNY PIÑOL PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of Manny Piñol and the things he promises to do if he gets elected as Senator in the May 2022 Elections.
Emmanuel “Manny” Fantin Piñol is a politician, writer, journalist, agribusinessman, and agriculture advocate. In 2016, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed him as agriculture secretary. He is one of the 63 candidates vying for a seat in the Senate this May 9 polls.
PERSONAL BACKGROUND
Manny Piñol was born on December 16, 1953 in Bialong, M’lang, Cotabato. He is married to Emily Asentista and they have three (3) children, Maria Krista, Josa Bernadette, and Bernhart Immanuel.
Piñol completed his primary, intermediate, and secondary education in M’lang. In 2006, he graduated from the University of Southern Mindanao with a bachelor’s degree in Development Communication.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Manny Piñol was previously a print and radio journalist. He served as M’lang, Cotabato mayor from 1995 to 1998. He then served as governor (1998-2007) and vice governor (2007-2010) of the province. He was Secretary of Agriculture from 2016 to 2019.
After the death of then-Chairman Abul Khayr Alonto, the politician was appointed as chairman of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA). In October 2021, resigned from MinDA and PDP-Laban to file his candidacy for the May 9 polls.
