Gen. Guillermo Eleaaer’s platforms if he wins Senator & his accomplishments

GUILLERMO ELEAZAR’S PLATFORMS – Here are the accomplishments of General Guillermo Eleazar and the things he promises to do if he gets elected as Senator in May 2022 Elections.

Gen. Eleazar served as the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief from May 5 to Nov. 13, 2021, and then, he reached the mandatory retirement age of 56. Soon after his retirement last year, he decided to run for Senator under Partido Reforma. He is one of the senatorial candidates under the tandem of Senator Ping Lacson and Senate President Tito Sotto.

PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Guillermo Eleazar has been part of the PNP for 38 years already. He entered the Philippine Military Academy and graduated and 1987. Gen. Eleazer was inspired by his father war veteran Staff Sergeant (SSG) Victor Eleazar. He also has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Philippine Christian University. The former PNP Chief is married to Lally Hernandez and they are blessed with four children.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Serving as the PNP Chief, Eleazar oversaw modernization and accountability initiatives for the PNP. This included the passage of guidelines for body-worn cameras during operations. He also pushed for the online complaint platform called E-Sumbong to report corrupt officers.

When he was the District Director of Quezon City Police District in 2018, their unit received a high trust rating in a survey conducted by former PNP chief Oscar Albayalde.

  • Technological upgrades within the national police to prevent street crime
  • Push for strengthening the PNP Internal Affairs Service
  • Oppose the defunding and abolition of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict
  • Create laws that will establish more comprehensive platforms for OFW’s concerns or complaints about their employers
  • Support for Filipino scientists and science students to ready the country for future pandemics
  • Amend Republic Act 10121 or the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 to allow local chief executives in disaster-hit areas to declare a state of calamity without damage assessment to allow them to use their calamity funds
