This statement of Toni Gonzaga caught the attention of critics
Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga made a striking statement during the UniTeam rally in Cebu City on Monday and this was criticized by the other camp.
Toni, since she hosted the proclamation rally of the team of former Senator Bongbogn Marcos and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, has been receiving bashing for her political stand.
Amid the criticisms, Toni has remained silent and continued supporting her presidential and vice-presidential candidates. She was one of the celebrities who joined the campaign rally of the UniTeam on April 18 that was held at SRP in Cebu City.
The said political event happened a week after the BBM-Sara tandem got the support from One Cebu led by Governor Gwen Garcia. This vote-rich province is the home of over 3.2 million voters in 2022, based on the report from Rappler.
In her speech during the rally, Gov. Garcia pointed out the voting records of Cebuano in past elections. “Kung mutingog ang Sugbo, ang nasod musunod nato (When Cebu speaks up, the country follows),” she said.
Entertaining the Cebuano crowd, Toni Gonzaga once again sang “Roar” that has become her staple song during UniTeam rallies. After her song performance, the actress-singer said, “Konting konting panahon nalang, babalik na si BBM sa kanyang tahanan: Ang Malacañang. Kasama niya ang sambayanang Pilipino na naniniwala sa kaniya.”
This statement from the wife of filmmaker Paul Soriano caught the attention of the online community, especially those who are critics of the UniTeam or the BBM-Sara tandem. BBM first entered the Malacanang when his father Ferdinand Marcos became the president in 1965 and this lasted until 1986.
Here are some of the negative reactions to the strong statement that Toni Gonzaga declared regarding Bongbong Marcos.
