Regine Velasquez talked about the journey of her music career
Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez acknowledged the fact that her voice has changed but this is something that does not bother her at all.
Regine is known as one of the singers in the Philippines who can do a difficult effortlessly. She is tagged as a biritera singer who can easily sing high notes. However, over the years, her voice changed and she has learned to embrace it, based on the article in PUSH.
”You know when you’re a woman there’s so many changes in your body when you give birth, I’m going through menopause, plus yung mga hormones it affects your voice. Nagbago na rin and kasi nung bata ako, parang kahit tulog ako kaya kong kumanta eh,” Regine Velasquez shared adding that it is fine for her to have the kind of voice that she has now.
It is because, through her voice now, she was able to feel little difficulties in singing and she is appreciating this unlike before when she would just exert a little effort. “Ganun lang naman talaga yun eh, you just have to get used to it again. There was a time I also wasn’t singing,” she said.
Regine said that there were years that she would just sing if she has a concert and after that, she would not do anything.
Because of this, she would complain that it was difficult for her to sing but now that she is using her singing voice more frequently, it is much easier for her. “My voice has changed. It doesn’t sound the same and I’m okay with that kasi ang weird naman kung parang 50 years old tapos ganito yung boses ko,” she said with a laugh.
Regine Velasquez will have a follow up Iconic concert with Megastar Sharon Cuneta. The first one they did was in 2019 and it was a huge success. This much-awaited music event will be held on June 17 and 18 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Resorts World Manila in Pasay City.
