Showbiz personality Gab Valenciano was defended by his parents, Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano and talent manager Angeli Pangilinan against recent bashing that he received.
Celebrities, especially during the election season, are intertwined with the world of politics. Over the years, more and more showbiz personalities are expressing their political views and even entering the political arena.
Gab is one of those celebrities who are vocally supporting the presidential candidacy of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, the brother of Angeli Pangilinan.
Just recently, Gab Valenciano received bashing and apparently it is because of his performance during a Leni-Kiko campaign rally. Amid the bashing, his parents rallied behind him. Through a Twitter post, Angeli slammed the “trolls” for attacking her son.
The talent manager said that Gab has bounced back from his mental breakdown and she warned the bashers to stop cyber bullying her son. Gab’s father also showed support for him. Gary retweeted the post of his wife and expressed a heartfelt message for his son. Even singer-actress Lea Salonga took the side of Gab.
With this support that he got from his parents, Gab expressed how thankful he is. Amid the negative reactions, he said that he is not affected by these. “In all honesty, I am unbothered by the bashing,” he said.
This tweets from the celebrities were shared on a popular showbiz news site and netizens expressed various reactions. There were those who said that Gab was not bashed for his political stand but he was “pinagkatuwaan” because of his performance.
“Watch the video of him dancing at nanlilisik ang eyes, hindi siya binash, pinagkatuwaan lang siya,” a netizen commented and several others shared the same reaction.
On the other hand, there were netizens who said that memes were just created from the performance of Gab Valenciano and this does not automatically means that he was bashed.
