Pia Wurtzbach slammed this fake news
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach clarified that she did not make any statement about “negative campaigning.”
Pia, as a confidently beautiful woman with a heart, has become an inspiration to many people, especially to her fellow women. Often, her inspiring words have become mantras and sources of empowerment.
However, there were certain statements and “quotable quotes” that are being attributed to her but in reality, she has not said those words, just like this recent art card that circulated online.
The said art card talked about “negative campaigning” during the election season. Allegedly Pia Wurtzbach said that she does not believe in negative campaigning and that it is not good to destroy the opponent.
“Don’t just believe in negative campaigns, I really do believe that if your heart is pure and ready to serve our country towards a better future then all you gonna do is to promote yourself and not by destroying figures of your co-candidate it may look desperate. I do believe that people who does negative campaigning is really on pressure and threatened because he/she is behind the other candidate.”
Pia retweeted this art card that has been deleted already, as of this writing. She said that she did not say those words and warned her followers not to spread fake news. “Hello po! I did not say this. Let us not spread fake news. Don’t believe all quotes that you see online. Let’s make it a habit to double check our sources. Ingat palagi!” she said.
This garnered various reactions from the Twitter followers of the third Pinay Miss Universe. There were those who said that it was obvious that the statement did not come from Pia because of how the sentences were constructed.
Some said that they agree that everyone should be mindful of what they see and read online because not everything is true.
