Fans are wondering why Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are silent about politics
Kapuso royalties Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes are not so vocal nowadays in expressing their political views, unlike in previous years.
In the past, the couple has openly endorsed the candidacy of the late President Noynoy Aquino. In the 2016 elections, Marian and Dingdong were also vocal in supporting the vice-presidential candidacy of now Vice President Leni Robredo.
However, in the coming 2022 elections, based on the article by entertainment columnist Rose Garcia in Abante, many people are wondering why the Kapuso couple has been silent about their political stand.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes haven’t aired their support to any candidate and their social media accounts are also mum when it comes to topics about politics.
Reportedly, it is because they are the face of GMA Public Affairs for its comprehensive election advocacy Dapat Totoo. In an interview with GMA’s entertainment reporter Lhar Santiago, the couple said that they really set aside a part of their schedule to shoot for this election advocacy.
Marian reminded the public to think thoroughly when it comes to choosing the candidate and she is thankful to GMA for giving this opportunity to help the voters. Dingdong said that this is a personal thing for them as a couple.
The actor stressed the importance of the decision that they will have this coming election because the next generation, especially their kids, will benefit from this. “So, para sa amin, gusto naming suportahan and advocacy na ito,” the Kapuso Primetime King said.
Shooting for the election advocacy of GMA was not only a fun thing to do for the couple. Those who are behind the camera enjoyed the shoot as well because in between takes, the sweetness of the couple was very evident.
