Sara Duterte to Remove Political Colors if She Wins: “Pilipino tayong lahat”

Sara Duterte to Remove Political Colors if She Wins on 2022 Elections

Vice-presidential aspirant Sara Duterte has promised that she will remove the political colors if she will win the May 2022 elections.

The Davao City Mayor declared during her visit to Bulacan that if she and her running companion, former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr, win the elections, the political colors will be removed. Duterte and Marcos Jr would endeavor to unify Filipinos, according to Duterte.

“Sinasabi po namin na kapag kami ang inyong pinili na maging pangulo at pangalawang pangulo ng ating bansa, pagkatapos po ng eleksyon ay buburahin po namin ang lahat ng kulay,” said Duterte.

“Isa lang po tayo, Pilipino tayong lahat, saan po tayo pupunta? hihilahin po namin kayo papunta sa tuloy-tuloy na kaunlaran ng ating bansa,” she added.

On Tuesday, March 8, 2022, citizens of Bulacan greeted the UniTeam slate with open arms at a campaign event in Guiguinto, Bulacan. On International Women’s Day, Duterte urged women to start their own enterprises in order to aid their families and the Philippine economy.

Duterte, however, has outlawed all political caravans and motorcades in the city. On Monday, March 7, Duterte signed Executive Order No. 10, series of 2022, a week after the city was put under Alert Level 1, the most stringent level of health and safety regulations.

The city largely approved the Commission on Elections (Comelec) resolution that established regulations for face-to-face campaigning through the EO. Part 16 of Comelec Resolution No. 10732, or the section on caravans and motorcades, will not be enforced, according to the EO.

Duterte justified the ban on motorcades and caravans by citing the city’s “public welfare,” claiming that they would cause considerable traffic congestion. Except for caravans and motorcades, the city would automatically grant all licenses or applications for political activity under the EO.
