PCADG Flags Campaign Photo of Mark Manicad Wearing Police Uniform

Campaign Photo of Mark Manicad Wearing Police Uniform Ciriticized by PCADG

The Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG) flagged the campaign photo of Mark Manicad wearing a police uniform.

PCADG Region 12 has condemned the widely circulated campaign photo of Kapamilya actor Mark Manicad, who openly supports presidential contender and Vice President Leni Robredo. The actor is dressed in a Philippine National Police uniform in the shot (PNP).

Manicad’s art card reads the statements “Leni is the President who has an open ear and heart to any Filipino of any color. You are Filipino, you must love your neighbor and your country, so Leni must. ”

Manicad can be seen saluting and donning a police uniform in the shot, which is based on his role as a cop in the Kapamilya Network’s teleserye ‘FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.’ Manicad engaged in “irresponsible use of the PNP uniform,” according to a statement from PCADG Region 12.

It went on to say that the photo gave the impression that the PNP was a politicized organization. The police community demanded that the owner of the Facebook page and the actor remove the photo and apologize.

They further stated that the police are a non-partisan organization and that Manicad is not affiliated with the PNP. Meanwhile, it was revised by PCADG Cagayan Valley. The spreading photo, according to their statement, is a reckless act of misinformation and obvious contempt for the PNP uniform’s integrity.

“Article IX-B, Section 2 (b), paragraph 4 of the 1987 Constitution states that‘ no officer or employee in the civil service shall engage, directly or indirectly, in any electioneering or partisan political campaign. ”

Meanwhile, Manicad has yet to reply or provide a remark on the matter, despite the fact that VP Leni’s official Facebook page shows that the actor was not dressed in a police uniform in his campaign photo. It’s still unclear if he or someone else created the art card.
