NBI Formally Filed Cyber Libel Case Against Annabelle Rama
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has formally filed the cyber libel case against Annabelle Rama in connection with complaints filed by actor-producer Jayke Joson.
The National Bureau of Investigation discovered enough evidence to prosecute Annabelle Rama with internet libel in a Las Pias courtroom on Monday morning. Former Senator Manny Pacquiao’s staff Jayke Joson filed a complaint, which led to the lawsuit.
They reportedly noticed eight remarks by Rama that might be deemed slanderous, harmful, and defamatory to Joson, according to NBI agent Wally Palatao, the officer who concentrated on the issue. The lawsuit was brought by Joson’s attorney, Atty. Larry Gadon and Atty. Ramon Esguerra.

According to the previous post, Rama dubbed Joson a “thief” and made other defamatory charges on social media. “Ang taba taba mo at mukha kang baboy sa kalalamon ng pera ng boss mo, ikaw ang anat, uod at cancer sa buhay ni Manny,” Rama said to Joson, according to a post on his social media account.
“The NBI formally wrapped up its probe and recommended to file cyber libel raps against Annabelle Rama in Las Piñas City Prosecutors Office,” Joson, the first nominee of Frontliners Ang Bida Party-list, said. “I pursue this case to fight a bully and a spreader of fake news.”
Joson advised victims of cyberbullying to seek support from law enforcement and then file a complaint against the perpetrators, especially since that fake news and cyber libel are becoming more common on social media. He stated that everyone who is involved in fabricating falsehoods should be imprisoned and prosecuted.
“These people who act like trolls like Annabelle Rama are creating fake news to discredit the name of a person for personal gain. It’s becoming a national issue and later on became part of the Presidential candidates’ interviews. (We have) to stop the disinformation and hold these people accountable,” Joson explained.
“Any people nor any individual behind any fabricated lies must go to jail and be persecuted. I believe our law enforcement like the NBI and PNP (Philippine National Police) are coming for them,” he added.
Rama, on the other hand, has already submitted a counter affidavit with the NBI, disputing Joson’s charges in Pacquiao’s former staff’s complaint. Rama also requested that Joson’s allegation be dismissed by the NBI.
