Councilor Aspirant Radio Commentator Gun Down in Sultan Kudarat
A radio commentator seeking for government position was allegedly killed after being gunned down in Sultan Kudarat.
The radio pundit was a councilor candidate in Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat, according to GMA News. Jaynard Angeles was shot at Barangay Carmen in Tacurong City, according to Police Regional Office 12.

Angeles had resigned from the radio station to run for councilor of Lambayong town in Sultan Kudarat, according to Allan Freno, Tacurong’s information officer. According to Freno, he was a hard-hitting radio analyst who did not spare politicians in his comments.
The shooting occurred at 10 a.m. in Angeles, according to PRO12 PIO chief Police Lieutenant Colonel Joyce Birrey. Angeles was alleged to have taken a gunshot wound to the head, according to the report.
Three gunshots were heard near the car wash station, according to witnesses. Angeles was waiting for his automobile in front of a car repair business in Barangay New Carmen when two males riding tandem on a motorcycle came. One of them fired a close-range shot at Angeles.
Angeles continued to work at Radyo ni Juan-Tacurong as a radio commentator or blocktimer at the time of his death.
Police are still investigating if the shooting was linked to his profession as a radio host or as a political candidate. The incident occurred on the fourth day of the countrywide election firearms ban’s rigorous execution.
The police investigation into the identity of the perpetrator and the reason for the crime is still underway. Angeles was a member of the Partido Federal Pilipinas (PFP). Benjie Caballero, the station manager of Radyo ni Juan in Tacurong, was also shot in Tacurong in December 2019. He died in a hospital a month later.
