Alfred Vargas Files “Ayuda sa Bakuna” Bill for Fully Vaccinated Family

Quezon City Representative Alfred Vargas filed a bill that seeks to give P15,000 cash assistance to the fully vaccinated family.

Vargas has introduced House Bill 10644, also known as the “Ayuda sa Bakuna” bill, which intends to offer a one-time P15,000 cash grant to families whose members have had full COVID-19 vaccination. On top of the agency’s ongoing social amelioration initiatives, the law proposes to create the cash assistance program under the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

According to Vargas, the law would not only relieve the pain of our fellow Filipinos during this two-year worldwide epidemic, but it will also aid in the solution of the problem by supporting science-based vaccination and hastening our attainment of herd immunity. The congressman also stated that the poorest of the poor and the most vulnerable sections in communities, such as older residents, people with disabilities, and those with comorbidities, will be prioritized.

Vargas went on to say that the program is open to all eligible Filipino families as long as all live and qualifying members have followed the government’s immunization schedule. As the government continues its attempts to regulate the COVID-19, he said that the step would assist lessen vaccination apprehension among the population.

“Vaccines save lives. Our nation’s strong vaccination drive has already shown that. Our Ayuda sa Bakuna program reflects the Filipino people’s values of bayanihan and damayan: to defeat COVID-19 and take back our normal lives from this virus, we need to help each other. We need to make sure that no one gets left behind,” Vargas said.
