Based on the report from CBS News, Natividad Medical Center in California shared an unusual story of twins born in different years. Alfredo Antonio Trujillo and Aylin Yolanda Trujillo were born just 15 minutes apart.

However, in that short period of time, the year has already changed. Alfredo was born on Dec. 31, 2021, at 11:45 p.m. while Aylin came at 12 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2022. This makes her the first baby to be born in the said hospital and Monterey County.

Reportedly, the twins are healthy. Alfredo weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce while Aylin is 5 pounds, 14 ounces. “What makes their birth so rare is that they were born on different days, months, and years,” the hospital said in a statement.

The mother of the twins, Fatima Madrigal was amazed by this. “It’s crazy to me that they are twins and have different birthdays. I was surprised and happy that she arrived at midnight,” she said.

Dr. Ana Abril Arias, a family doctor at Natividad Medical Group said that it was an “absolute pleasure” to help the twins to arrive even though they came in different years. It was indeed a memorable moment for her medical career.
