Rabiya Mateo almost did this decision for her career
Prior to her beauty pageant stint, Rabiya was teaching in a review center for physical therapy board takers as she graduated with the degree in the said course. Fortunately, she was able to start her beauty pageant journey last year and even though it was her first time, she won the national beauty pageant title.
After she competed in the States, Rabiya, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, almost decided to stay there and just practice her profession. She was thinking of just working as a physical therapist in the U.S.
“But [people] did advise me to think about it, ’cause… iba din kasi ‘yung, you know, tahimik ‘yung life. And, at the same time, I can practice my studies, my course, by being a physical therapist,” the Ilongga beauty said but she decided to give showbiz a try.
Rabiya Mateo shared that she told her mom that she want to give it one more try. “Wala na din namang mawawala sa akin,” the Kapuso talent said.
She also shared that every time she feels down because of the tough times she is encountering, Rabiya said she was just thinking of her journey and how she was able to reach where she is now.
“Iniisip ko lang palagi na ang laking sacrifice ko just to be here and I cannot just give up,” the beauty queen-turned-actress said. Following her Miss Universe stint, Rabiya Mateo appeared in several TV shows until she officially signed a contract with the Kapuso network last month. Now, she is part of the action-drama series Agimat ng Agila that is now on its second season.
