Lalamove Rider Supposed to Deliver Illegal Drugs from Chinese Man Reported to Cops

Police authorities arrested a Chinese man for allegedly attempting to deliver illegal drugs using app-based delivery service Lalamove.

After an app-based delivery rider detected suspected illegal substances called “shabu” in the box he was transporting, Taguig City Police apprehended a Chinese resident. The rider first questioned what the sender had brought to him from Baclaran when he was not allowed to take the photo item, according to the rider’s report.

He went on to say that the sender allegedly give him only a P100 delivery fee and move. When the package’s drop-off location was changed multiple times, his suspicions about it grew.

The rider peered at the contents of the receiver because he didn’t see it when he arrived at the drop-off spot in McKinley West. When he noticed one packet containing a white substance that he assumed was shabu, he was taken aback.

The courier reported the incident to the nearest police station right away. As a result, officials reacted quickly, leading to the arrest of a 29-year-old Chinese man, based on the report.

The event was reported to the Taguig Drug Enforcement Unit, which began an entrapment operation in the hopes of apprehending the drug sender, however, they were unsuccessful. The incident is still being investigated. The foreigner who was arrested will be charged with breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
