Kitten Survives Semeru Eruption, Gets Overjoyed To See Human

Kitten Viral After It Survives Semeru Volcano Eruption

KITTEN SURVIVES ERUPTION – Recently, Indonesia’s Semeru volcano erupted spreading ashfall throughout the surrounding area.

The deadly blast caused massive damage after it spewed ash clouds 4km into the air. Along with this, there were also large volumes of volcanic mud that flowed into residential and farm areas.

Animals also suffered greatly following the eruption. Luckily, Veterinarians worked from sunrise to sunset to help evacuate and treat some of these animals.

Many suffered burns, respiratory issues due to smoke inhalation, and other injuries. Amongst the animals found was a tiny kitten that looked overjoyed after seeing a human.

Amidst the rubble, the kitten, covered in volcanic ash, rushed toward the rescuer. Usually, kittens would often shy away from humans, especially those raised in the streets. But, with the terrifying aftermath of the eruption, who wouldn’t be happy to see another face?

Looking around, the rescuer saw nothing but ruin as homes were covered in mud and ash. Luckily, the rescuer was there to help the kitten and is now on the way to recovery.

Sadly, some did not survive the eruption. According to an article from Aljazeera, 30 people died due to the eruption. Meanwhile, more than 3,000 are displaced.

According to experts, heavy rains caused the eruption of the Semeru volcano. The rain gradually eroded Semeru’s lava dome. Based on an article from Reuters, this lava dome consisted of hardened lava which acted as a “plug”.

But, the heavy rain caused the dome’s volume to shrink. And, due to this, the dome was left unstable and collapsed. Now, scientists fear this may occur again as climate change continues to ramp up.

Semeru is one of Indonesia’s most active volcanoes. As per the article, more than 8,000 people live within 10km of the volcano.
