Truck Allegedly Raced with Other Truck Resulted to Mishap in Talisay Cebu
Five persons were killed while at least 14 others were injured in a mishap when a wayward dump truck plowed several vehicles in Talisay City, Cebu.
The dump truck was purportedly traveling at high speed on the crowded road during the initial investigation by the Traffic Bureau of the Talisay City police, based on eyewitness information. According to the investigation, the driver raced with another truck, leading him to lose control and plow into oncoming traffic.

According to the report, 14 people were injured and 5 were killed. Benchin Udtohan, the dump truck driver, was one of the dead, dying while being treated at the hospital, along with three other men and a woman.
The incident occurred about 9:30 a.m., according to the police report. along the N. Bacalso Avenue is located in the city’s Barangay Lawaan 3. In accordance with P/MSg. According to Talisay City police traffic inspector Reynaldo Tican, Udtohan’s truck first collided with an incoming multicab before colliding with a Beep public utility vehicle (PUV) and sweeping the other vehicle away.
The accident involved two dump trucks, six four-wheeled vehicles, four motorbikes, a bicycle, and a tricycle. Three of the victims were pronounced dead on the spot, while the other two died in the hospital.
The names of the injured have not yet been revealed by the authorities, and the police investigation into the incident is still ongoing. In order to determine the true occurrence, police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
