Councilor Candidate, 2 Companions Killed After Shot in Ambush in Pampanga

3 individuals including a councilor candidate and his two companions were killed in an ambush in San Simon, Pampanga.

The councilor candidate and two of his associates were shot inside their vehicle, according to the report. Rogelio Salvador Jr., the former head of Barangay Concepcion, was the victim.

The ambush also murdered his driver and another passenger in their SUV. According to the report, the ambush took place on Bambang Road in Barangay San Miguel.

The case has been assigned to a special investigating task group by the police. The San Simon municipal government has offered a P500,000 prize for information leading to the speedy resolution of the crime.

Investigators are currently looking into whether the crime was motivated by politics. There is no evidence that the victims were involved in illicit activity, according to Leonora Wong, the acting mayor of San Simon.

Meanwhile, an unidentified gunman shot and killed a 68-year-old lay preacher inside the Inayawan Public Market in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City. An unidentified gunman shot the victim numerous times in the torso and head, killing him instantly.

The lay minister’s murder is being investigated as a case of personal vendetta by police. The shooter, according to Tpolice, used a.45 handgun in the attack.

Witnesses also reported seeing a man dressed in a white T-shirt and grey shorts, as well as a ball cap and a face mask. He also stated that they had no idea who the killer was and that the inquiry into victims’s death was still ongoing.
