Former President Donald Trump Now Honorary 9th Dan Blackbelt In Taekwondo

DONALD TRUMP BLACK BELT – Former US President Donald Trump received an honorary blackbelt from Kukkiwon, the World Taekwondo Academy.

Taekwondo is one of the oldest known forms of martial arts. According to experts, Taekwondo had been around for over 2,000 years.

It is also believed that this form of martial art combines two types of fighting styles – Korea’s Taek Kyon, and the Japanese discipline, Karate.

Meanwhile, the average person could take about 3-5 years in order to become a black belt in Taekwondo. Some schools even have a four-five year minimum of training before a student can be considered for a black belt promotion.

However, Trump received an honorary title from nonother than Kukiwon president, Lee Dong-seop. In Kukkiwon’s official social media accounts they posted:

Trump on the other hand said that he was honored to receive such a title. “Taekwondo is a great martial art for protecting oneself in these times“, said the former president.

Unsurprisingly, many from the martial arts industry were disgusted by Trump’s honorary title. According to some netizens, the title of “Black Belt’ just lost its meaning.

Another said that Trump didn’t even pose in a fighting stance for a picture. Furthermore, some stress that it takes skill and dedication to get the title of blackbelt. As such, a netizen on Twitter said that one should “never” be given a blackbelt.
