Chinese Tennis Star Mysteriously Disappears Without Trace After Sexual Assault Claims
CHINESE TENNIS STAR DISAPPEARS – Peng Shuai, one of the top tennis players in China recently accused a high-ranking official of sexual assault.
But, following this, Peng mysteriously disappeared. However, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said they had no idea what happened to the tennis star.
When the media asked the ministry regarding the issue, Zhao Lijian, its spokesperson said they aren’t aware of the situation. Furthermore, he claimed that such an inquiry doesn’t even concern diplomatic issues.

Earlier, Peng accused Zhang Gaoli, a former prime minister, of sexual assault. According to Peng, Zhang, who is in his 70s sexually assaulted her 3 years ago when she visited his home in China.
Shockingly, within minutes after going public with this on social media, Peng’s posts were suddenly deleted. Since then, the public never heard from the tennis player.
Because of this, there had been widespread concerns about her safety and security. Meanwhile, the biggest tennis stars in the world such as Serena Williams had spoken out.
On her Twitter account, Williams wrote:
I am devastated and shocked to hear about the news of my peer, Peng Shuai. I hope she is safe and found as soon as possible. This must be investigated and we must not stay silent. Sending love to her and her family during this incredibly difficult time. #whereispengshuai
Weirdly enough, the heat on social media regarding Peng led to Chinese State Media releasing a statement supposedly from the tennis player herself. In the statement, the Wimbledon doubles champ supposedly wrote: “I am not missing, nor am I unsafe.”.
Additionally, she also retracted her statements regarding the sexual assault issue. “I’ve just been resting at home and everything is fine“, continued the statement.
