BBM Supporters Viral After They Conduct Tree Planting On Boracay Beach
BBM TREE PLANTING – Supporters of Bongbong Marcos went viral after they conduct a tree planting activity on a beach in Boracay.
Recently, supporters of BBM held a massive caravan that filled the roads with red. Meanwhile, in other parts of the Philippines, supporters of the former Senator showed support doing community work.
Amongst these was the tree planting activity in Boracay. In a photo uploaded by Mr. Rex Remitio on Facebook, supporters of BBM held up a banner saying “BBM Boracay Tree Planting”.
Obviously, planting trees always has its benefits. However, some netizens were concerned about why the trees were planted on the beach.
“I admire the intention pero parang mali ang pag-execute/pag-implement. Hindi sa nagmamarunong, pero sa dami ko ng nasalihang coastal-related activities, ito yung ginawang joke.“, one netizens said.
So, what seems to be the issue with the tree planting activity? According to UP Visayas, scientists say that beach forests have specific characteristics. As such, specific guidelines are required to plant trees, even on an empty beach.
“Di ibig sabihin nito ay basta-basta na lang magtanim ng puno. Factor din ang salinity ng dagat at ang lakas ng mga alon. Mamamatay lang ang mga tinanim nila.”

Meanwhile, BBM supporters defended the beach planting activity and said that the DENR itself already approved the campaign.
