Paolo Guico of Ben&Ben Pays Tribute in the Funeral of Avid Fan Who Dies in QC Fire
Member of the famous OPM band Ben&Ben Paolo Guico pays tribute to their avid fan who recently died in a fire that occurs in Quezon City.
Paolo Guico can be heard singing at Melanie Trinidad’s funeral wake in a more than seven-minute video published on the official Facebook page of the band Ben&Ben. Melanie, according to the article, was a student who died in a fire in Novaliches, Quezon City, not long ago.
Those close to Melanie mentioned in their caption that she still fought for the welfare of his loved ones, as well as his education and future. Melanie was also honored by the band for her bravery and kindness.
“Thank you for your bravery and compassion, Melanie. You’ll live on forever through the people whose lives you’ve touched,” the OPM band shared.
“Melanie is light. So for the last time, we went to his service to offer sympathy and offer a few songs. Let’s all pray for the repose of her soul,” added Ben & Ben.

Among the five songs Paolo sang were “Leaves” and “Magpahinga,” and Melanie is an avid fan of the band, according to Melanie’s friend description. Melanie would have graduated from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) in Sta. Mesa.
Meanwhile, Melanie’s friend, Elisse Danielle Delos Reyes, expressed her gratitude to the band after it achieved its desire of hearing Ben & Ben. Elisse is appreciative to the band for taking time out of their busy schedule for their forthcoming show to pay respect to Melania.
“Sa Ben&Ben at sa Liwanag team, paulit-ulit man ako, pero gusto ko pong magpasalamat for this very humane act. As your fan, masasabi kong I really stan the right band. Sobrang proud ako sa generosity niyo. Thank you for sharing your talent to those who need it most,” Elissed said in a Facebook post.
Melanie’s family, who suffered multiple injuries as a result of the tragedy, thanked the band for their compassion. Melanie died after attempting to preserve their burning home’s laptop, according to auhotirites’ account.
