Bawal Bebe Time Sa Sinehan As Cinemas Reopen In The Philippines
BAWAL BEBE TIME SA SINEHAN – Finally, the Philippines said it’s ready to reopen cinemas to the public.
Cinemas have long been a place for dates. Unfortunately for Filipino lovebirds, social distancing is still a thing. So, for now, “bawal bebe time”.
According to the Department of Interior and Local Government, a one-seat apart rule will be imposed. Furthermore, the Cinema Exhibitor Association of the Philippines (CEAP) echoed the DILG’s sentiment and said:
“Kapag nagbukas po tayo dapat one seat apart muna, tapos the whole time na nanunood ng sine naka-mask ‘yung mga nanunood. Tapos wala munang kakain“
Sadly, that’s two for two when it comes to your cinema experience. Usually, the best pair for movies is good food. But, with COVID-19 happening, no eating becomes the compromise for patrons of film.
Still, only areas in Metro Manila under Alert Level 3 are allowed to open cinemas. But, the length of time the cinema doors are open only lasts from October 16 to 31.
Furthermore, venues that conduct movie viewing may only let in 30% of the cinema’s indoor capacity. Here are the other rules the DILG would impose when cinemas reopen:
Cinemas in the country have been closed since March of 2020. According to an article from ABS-CBN, this caused the movie industry in the Philippines to lost more than P21 billion in revenue.
