The smartphone is powered by Mediatek Helio G96 (12 nm) processor while the graphics processing unit (GPU) is Mali-G57 MC2. It runs on the Android 11 + Realme UI 2.0 operating system.

It is integrated with 6GB of RAM while the internal storage has 64GB and 128GB options. The phone has a standard memory slot (such as an SD or micro-SD card slot) that enables users to extend the built-in internal storage. It can be expanded up to 256GB.

Realme 8i measures 164.1 x 75.5 x 8.5 mm and weighs 194 grams. It comes with a screen size of 6.6 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 20:9 aspect ratio. It was launched in Purple and Black colors.

The phone is integrated with a triple-camera on the rear side: 50-megapixel (wide) + 2-megapixel (macro) and 2-megapixel (depth). The phone has a tiny punch-hole screen that houses a 16-megapixel (wide) camera.

Sensors on the device include fingerprint (side-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. It also features GPS with A-GPS, BDS, GLONASS, GALILEO, USB Type-C 2.0, USB OTG, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, hotspot, and Bluetooth 5.1.
