Cop Jokingly Pulled Out a Gun Killed a Friend After He Accidentally Shot in Tondo
A man was shot to death by his friend cop who is allegedly joking pulling out his gun but unintentionally fired hitting the victim.
Closed-circuit television (CCTV) shows a guy falling from his feet in Tondo, Manila, when he was inadvertently shot by his police companion, according to a GMA News report. Jayson Capistrano, a resident of Barangay 183 in Gagalangin, Tondo, was the victim.
Police Corporal Oliver Ferrer, a friend of the victim, is the suspect, who is said to have surrendered after the incident. According to the article, he also surrendered his gun.
Outside the residence, CCTV footage shows Ferrer facing and conversing with Capistrano, as well as some other inhabitants. Ferrer later pulled out a gun, which detonated.
According to the surveillance footage, the bullet struck the victim in the side. After being shot, Capistrano slumped to the ground. The man was taken to the Chinese General Hospital, but was declared dead, according to the report.
The suspect has refused to make a statement. The incident disturbed the victim’s wife and father greatly. His wife, Leizel Soriano, is seeking justice for his husband’s killing and wishes for the suspect to die in the same manner as his husband.
“Ang bait ng anak ko. Wala kaming masasabi diyan sa anak ko. Hindi namin alam bakit nangyari ito. Bakit nagkaganito,” Jusberte Capistrano, the victim’s father, said.
“Gusto kong mamatay din siya, walanghiya siya. Gusto kong mamatay din siya. Pagbayaran niya ang ginawa niya sa asawa ko,” the victim’s wife crying said.
