The creator of the app is known as Zhang Yiming. At 38 years old, he has become one of the richest men in the world, amassing $44.5 billion. Zhang was a cofounder of ByteDance, the company behind the viral app.
Although the tech giant CEO is one of the worlds’ richest, little is known regarding his private life. However, Zhang announced that he would step down as CEO of the company simply due to a “self-acknowledged lack of social skills”.
But, he has already found somebody to replace him – his old college roommate, Liang Rubo who currently sits as the human resources head. Also, unlike most billionaires, Zhang isn’t the eccentric type.
Furthermore, he expressed utmost humility in stepping down. He stated that he lacked the skills that make an ideal manager. Additionally, based on an article from Forbes, Zhang stated:
“I’m not very social, preferring solitary activities like being online, reading, listening to music and daydreaming about what may be possible“
