Obando Mayor Edwin Santos Clarified Birthday Party Gatherings Violating Protocols
OBANDO MAYOR – Mayor Edwin Santos defends himself from the allegation that he violated health protocols during his birthday party.
Mayor Santos expressed his feelings over the allegations that he breached health rules during his recent birthday celebrations in an interview with ABS-CBN News. He maintained it wasn’t a get-together because his birthday was on a different day.
“Hindi gatherings yun kasi di ko pa naman po birthday. Bukas pa po eh,” he defended in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

His pals, he claims, brought him food and came to greet him for his pre-birthday celebration. He clarified that they did not wear face masks while eating and that sufficient physical separation was enforced.
“Pumunta po sila para i-greet ako tapos may dala po silang pagkain. Kumain po kami. Kaya wala po kaming face mask. Pero ang distansya naman po namin di naman kami dikit- dikit eh. Medyo malayo ng konti. Siyempre kami po magkakaibigan,” he explained.
The statement is in reference to one of his posts, where he is expected to be seen with up to 20 visitors. He explained that they simply went out to eat and didn’t have a party, therefore they didn’t break any health rules.
“Wala po kaming sinu-suway, kasi wala naman po kaming sine-celebrate. Kaya lang po hindi po maiiwasan, na kayo po kung mahal po kayo ng tao pupuntahan ka, eh di naman ako naka- ready,” he stressed.
“Di ko naman alam iyon. Pumunta sila, tapos po naghanda sila ng food. Kinain naman po namin, nagsalo- salo po kami…Surprise greetings lang po iyon,” he said, adding that they are fully vaccinated.
