Man in Cebu City Playing Too Much Online Game Suffers Mental Disorder
A Cebu City official shares a man who has developed a mental disorder as a result of his excessive playing of an online game, which has turned into an addiction.
Junard “Ahong” Chan, the mayor of Lapu-Lapu City, revealed the plight of a young gamer on his official Facebook account. He revealed that a 24-year-old local became mentally unwell as a result of frequent online gaming.

Youths and others who enjoy playing online games, notably multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games, were reminded by the town’s mayor. The mayor underlined the importance of teenagers not being self-assured in their health, as they mistreated themselves while playing the game.
“Paalala sa ating mga kabataan, iwasan ang labis na paglalaro ng Mobile Legends dahil mayroon itong masamang epekto lalo na kung nasasakripisyo na ang inyong pagkain. ‘Wag makumpyansa,” Chan said.
The mayor even published a Facebook post from Annabeth Cuizon, the head of the City Social Welfare Development Office, who went to see Alucard, not her real name, who was now supposedly suffering from a mental illness as a result of her excessive playing. Cuizon claims Alucard complained of a bad headache in July.
Cuizon went on to say that Alucard forgot to eat because he was engrossed in an online game. According to Cuizon, Alucard’s family learned about our Free Mental Health Clinic and decided that he needed such a service given by our government through our CSWD Office in partnership with the Philippine Mental Health Association, which is run by Mayor Aquino.
Without a doubt, municipal officials paid a visit to Alucard and his family at their home, delivering groceries for their daily necessities. A physical examination of the young man is planned.
