“Sinungaling Si Duque” – Health Workers Air Dismay Over DOH “Benefits”

Health Worker Groups Call Out DOH Saying “Sinungaling Si Duque” Following Benefits Issue

DOH BENEFITS ISSUE – Health worker groups slam the Department of Health amid the “benefits” issue and said “Sinungaling si Duque”.

Recently, the several issues bombarded the DOH from unaccounted for funds to non-existent benefits for health care workers. However, the health department was quick to respond and denied all accusations.

During media briefing last week, Duque said that private health care workers were given benefits and hazard pay. But, according to the president of St. Luke’s Medical Center Employees association, Jao Clumia, these were all lies.

"Sinungaling Si Duque" – Health Workers Air Dismay Over DOH "Benefits"

Based on an article from Inquirer, Clumia said:

Furthermore, Clumia emphasized how health care workers failed to receive any benefits including, but not limited to, meals, accommodation and transportation. Along with this, other health care worker groups such as the Alliance of Health Workers (AHW) also chimed in on the issue.

As per the article, AHW Secretary-General Benjamin Santos said Duque was also a liar. This time, he cited how the Health Secretary continuously said that he couldn’t do anything about the benefits for health workers.

Currently, the Philippines is facing a surge in COVID-19 cases, especially in high-risk areas such as Metro Manila. Due to this, hospitals are urging for mass hiring of medical workers such as doctors and nurses.
